The HYDRA TRITON power distributor is the beneficiary of a ten year research and development cycle aimed at perfecting high-performance, maximum current power-distribution for the film, recording and audio/video industries. All of the unique technologies within HYDRA TRITON are the exclusive intellectual property of Shunyata Research scientist Caelin Gabriel. It is rare in any product category – even less so in power products, for there to be a consensus on products used in different systems and within differing contexts. HYDRA TRITON has broken that mold by offering reference performance in every recording, film, media and music system they have been applied in since their debut. TRITON models are now being used in many of the finest recording studios; by top electronics manufacturers and industry luminaries the world over.

This critical and commercial consensus is the result of Shunyata’s ability to measurably improve peak-current delivery to electronics using DTCD Analysis. Equally important has been the development of the MPDA (Multi-Phase-Differentail-Array) filter-networks, which minimize CCI (Component-to-Component Interference) without adding any capacitive or inductive reactance. Shunyata’s (patents pending) Noise Isolation Chambers add performance to the TRITON design by passively absorbing noise in the megahertz and gigahertz region. Shunyata Research’s HYDRA TRITON power distributor was originally conceived as a reference caliber power distributor that bore no compromise in design scale or performance. As the project evolved, the TRITON’s size and cost escalated beyond practical limits. The file-cabinet sized prototype was temporarily shelved while options were considered to reduce the unit’s massive one-box size and projected price. Designer Caelin Gabriel created a solution by splitting the original TRITON design into two units. The first chassis would house a stand-alone eight outlet Reference power distributor. The second chassis of equal size and greater weight, would plug into the base unit and function in parallel. This would complete Gabriel’s original vision for an ultimate performance power distributor. 

Shortly after its 2011 release, the HYDRA TRITON became the most critically and professionally endorsed product of its kind, receiving awards and accolades from recording professionals and top editors at US and international magazines. The HYDRA TRITON’s overwhelming success paved the way for the introduction of it’s “second-half”, the HYDRA TYPHON. HYDRA CYCLOPS is Shunyata Research's reference 2 outlet high-current power distributor. HYDRA CYCLOPS use technologies and materials developed for Shunyata Research's award-winning TRITON, including the critical patented pending Noise Isolation Chambers.

CYCLOPS is the ultimate high-current delivery distributor for the industry's finest amplifiers or other high-current components. CYCLOPS was meticulously developed using Shunyata's DTCD™ analyzer for optimal peak-current delivery. There are no breakers or surge devices designed into the CYCLOPS further streamlining its ability to improve the performance of the world's finest amplifiers, projectors or two-component systems.

When you have the luxury of multiple dedicated lines, the CYCLOPS may be used to power the amplifiers while a TRITON, TALOS or HYDRA AV may be used for the front-end equipment. 

 

HYDRA DPC-6 is the first HYDRA designed specifically to optimize the performance of digital media-server entertainment systems. Components such as digital servers, routers, disc-arrays, transports, computers and digital media centers can output a significant amount of digital noise and often have cheap power supplies with poor filtration or noise barriers. The HYDRA DPC-6 electrically isolates (firewalls) these devices and prevents them from polluting the other audio components on the power line. 

The DPC-6 features a Shunyata Research developed digital filter that dramatically reduces the digital hash and noise that is commonly associated with digital media playback.

Digital video components can also be used into the Hydra DPC-6 with amazing performance results.

The MPC-12A is similar in function to our traditional power distributors in that it is intended for normal audio and video systems that are not specifically computer based audio systems.

The MPC-12A has two independent zones of 6 outlets each, for a total of 12 outlets. This allows for the normal segregation of analog and digital components or between amplifiers and source components. The "A" designation stands for audio although it can also be used in all forms of audio/video systems. The two isolated zones will be labeled "A/V Zone 1" and "A/V Zone 2”.

At the core of the MPC-12A are Shunyata’s latest generation of CCI™ (Component-to-Component Interference) filters. These powerful multi-frequency noise-filters provide exceptional isolation for electronics without interfering with DTCD (Dynamic Transient Current Delivery) or electronics power supply function. The MPC-12 "A" has none of the drawbacks commonly associated with traditional forms “power conditioning” yet provides all of the protection and noise isolation that benefit electronics systems of all types.

Complementing the superior noise isolation in the MPC-12 "A" are dual 12 gauge OFE 101 copper conductors. This massive 9 gauge aggregate conductor set insures optimum DTCD performance for any and all high-current draw systems. Surge and spike protection are included in the form of Shunyata Research'’s Surge module, which has had a virtually zero failure rate since its inception. Putting these elements together in a 12 outlet, form-follows-function package makes the MPC-12 "A" an incredible value. The MPC-12 “A” and “C” models also feature on-board surge, spike and over-current protection with a built-in status L.E.D. indicator.

 

The VENOM MPC-12 "C" is designed specifically for computer-audio, video and music-server based systems. Computer-media based music systems use several digital or processing components associated with computers (server). These devices are often made with commodity power supplies that put out significant amounts of power line noise. The MPC-12C was designed specifically to segregate or “firewall” the computer or video related components — preventing them from polluting the performance of your high-end analog components.

The MPC-12 "C" is Shunyata Research’s most finely tuned power distributor in terms of its system specific design and function. Essentially, the MPC-12 contains two separate power conditioners starting from the power inlet. In section one, The MPC-12 "C" uses Shunyata’s finest CCI™ (Component-to-Component Interference) filter arrays to reduce noise and enhance performance while still allowing formaximum current-delivery to even the most power hungry amplifiers.

The other side of the MPC-12 "C", employs a custom-manufactured hand-wound air coil which literally fire-walls intense computer or video generated noise from affecting the components plugged into the second bank of six high-current/Analog outlets.

For those with the audio-systems that combine one or two digital components such as a CD player or Transport and DAC, the MPC-12 "A" model makes the most sense. For those with computer audio or video centric systems, the MPC-12 "C" is the best choice.

The VENOM PS8 is Shunyata Research's least expensive reference grade power distributor. It was designed, specifically to fit behind a rack or cabinet with all outlets facing up for ease of use in a complex entertainment system.

It's ultra high-current design and quality construction make it an ideal choice for video systems, media systems, recording systems and high-end audio power distribution applications.

power conditioner is a device that provides surge protection and noise reduction while a power distributor simply distributes power to multiple outlets. The Z-PC10 is essentially a ΞTRON™ α Series power cord but it has a much thinner body and uses small compact connects. The Z-PC10 is intended to offer a high-performance power cord option for components with narrow, or obscured IEC ports that require a narrow power cord IEC or a small conductor profile to make the connection. The Z-PC10 can also slide through tight rack spaces, around sharp corners and navigate sharp bends with relative ease. This makes the Z-PC10’s application potential virtually limitless in any and all systems.

It is available in two models with either the hybrid ΞTRON™ α DIGITAL or α ANALOG circuit. Due to the small size of the connectors and the body of the cable it is not available in an HC version.

Shunyata Research developed the VENOM DIGITAL power cord to address the specific noise challenges digital electronics present to the performance of  digital recording, video and sound systems. The Shunyata Research DF-SS takes the patented technology Shunyata Designer Caelin Gabriel applied in the original DFE and DFE v2, to an elite performance level by adding two important design innovations. In addition to the patented energy-field neutralization material used in the original DFE, the DF-SS incorporates two forms of vibration isolation that quiets energy transfer between the floor and any cable product.

The most significant advance applied to the DF-SS is the wide band cable suspension bridge, designed to support any cable, power or signal, while dissipating vibrational energy through the purposefully tensioned polymer band. The second innovation is the energy-absorbing granular compound that fills the base of the DF-SS. This compound formulation absorbs floor borne energy that would otherwise couple to the cable, causing signal degradation.

These combined technologies define the DF-SS as the most technically advanced cable suspension system on the market.
