  • McIntosh MCD550 – 2 channel SACD/CD Player

Rediscover your valuable CD collection with the MCD550 SACD/CD Player. This high performance SACD/CD player has everything you need for hours of listening enjoyment. The MCD550 utilizes an 8-channel, 32-bit/192kHz PCM/DSD digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with wide dynamic range and extremely low distortion. The 8-channel DAC is used in Quad Balanced mode, which utilizes 4 DAC channels per audio channel, allowing music at all levels to be reproduced with extreme precision and elegance. It can decode PCM signals from CDs and the digital inputs, and DSD signals from SACDs.

Both fixed and variable balanced and unbalanced outputs are present, offering you extreme flexibility in connecting the MCD550 to your system. The variable outputs allow for direct connection to an amplifier without requiring a separate preamplifier. Also available are three digital inputs: a coax, an optical and a USB input that allows for direct streaming of computer stored music at up to 24-bits and 192kHz. Coax and optical outputs are available if you want to send the audio signal to a preamplifier or home theater processor.

  • McIntosh MCD350 – 2 channel SACD/CD Player

The MCD350 SACD/CD Player delivers a pure playback experience from your SACDs and CDs – it features a balanced 2-channel, 32-bit/192kHz Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC). Fixed analog stereo outputs are available in both balanced and unbalanced offerings; a coax and optical output are also available if you prefer to send the digital audio signal to an external DAC, preamplifier or home theater processor. All analog plus the digital coax outputs are gold plated or superior corrosion resistance.

The MCD350 features 2x read speed so that all discs placed in its rigid aluminum die-cast tray are read at higher speeds allowing their data to be stored in a buffer memory for a better error correction and tracking. A twin laser optical pickup uses a single objective lens with two laser units each employing different wavelengths that are optimized for SACD and CD playback. The classic McIntosh black glass front panel with an illuminated logo and aluminum end caps complete the unit.

  • McIntosh MCT500 – 2 channel SACD/CD Transport

Be transported into your music with the MCT500 SACD/CD Transport. The MCT500 is a digital only unit and features 4 digital outputs: industry standard balanced, coax and optical outputs plus our exclusive MCT connector. To enjoy your CDs, it can be paired with any product that has standard digital inputs and a digital-to-analog convertor (DAC). This includes select McIntosh home theater processors, integrated amplifiers and preamplifiers.

For SACD playback, the MCT500’s proprietary MCT output needs to be connected (via the included cable) to a McIntosh product with an MCT input. This includes the D1100, C52, C2600, C47 and D150 preamplifiers, MA9000, MA8900, MA7200 or MA5300 integrated amplifiers or MAC7200 receiver. When the MCT500 is connected to one of these devices, a secure digital connection is created, allowing for the playback of the high definition audio found on SACDs. Regular CDs can also be played over the MCT connection.

  • McIntosh MR87 – AM/FM Tuner

McIntosh has a long and distinguished history with tuners. The MR78 from the early 1970s is considered by many to be one of – if not the best – tuners ever made. The MR87 AM/FM Tuner continues this legacy by allowing you to enjoy the multitude of free music streaming over the airwaves.

It features proprietary radio-frequency (RF) circuitry to receive strong FM signals from nearby stations – something that can overload other tuners – without distortion while also receiving weaker FM signals located further away with little to no noise. The included RAA2 AM antenna features a 20-foot (6m) long cable that allows flexibility in placing the antenna in order to achieve the best AM reception. The MR87’s advanced signal quality monitor can display the multipath and noise levels of the incoming RF signal to help fine tune antenna placement for optimal reception.

AM and FM stations may be luxuriously tuned using the smooth acting tuning knob and glass dial with illuminated pointer. The FM tuner includes Radio Data System (RDS) support, allowing the digital readout to display various information such as station name, music genre, artist name and song title when transmitted by the station. Up to 20 stations in each the AM and FM band may be stored in memory. Stations may be scanned with either the front panel controls or remotely from the included remote control. Advanced DSP tuning minimizes multipath tuning noise for clear audio quality. Both analog and digital outputs are included to connect the MR87 to your preamplifier or other system components.
