Resonance Control—this is the defining element in Nordost’s Sort System. Resonance is an often overlooked, but defining factor in high quality sound reproduction. Nordost’s Sort System allows components to resonate at their natural frequency, without the burden of extraneous, damaging vibrations and the constraint of damping materials.
It is no industry secret that vibration degrades the performance of individual components and sound systems drastically. One way to try to minimize this negative effect is through the use of isolation devices (separating the component from outside forces that would harm sound integrity). However, Nordost takes a different approach to solving this problem. We believe that the most harmful mechanical energy doesn’t enter the equipment from the outside; it’s generated internally by the audio circuits and power supplies in components, as well as the drivers and crossovers in loudspeakers. Nordost’s Sort Kone and Sort Füt are the ideal solution for these vibration problems, offering an outlet for innate vibrations, while simultaneously protecting loudspeakers, audio racks and components from external factors.
The Sort Lift addresses the other side of resonance control. The Sort Lift is a unique and extremely effective cable support. While other cable lifters in the industry are only concerned with doing just that—lifting the cables, the Sort Lift not only elevates them off the ground, but it employs a patent pending, Floating Spring Design, minimizing the contact that cables have with the apparatus and maintaining the natural resonance of the cables themselves. Additionally, the Sort Lift inhibits the transfer of electrical charges from surface to cable, while delivering a noticeable sonic improvement on the performance of sound systems.
Using each element of Nordost’s Sort System will introduce a natural, lifelike and lively tenor to your music, leaving you exceedingly satisfied with the performance achieved by your sound system.
Nordost Sort FütRRP from $2,320 for set of 4 Contact us for advice
The Sort Füt is a mechanically tuned resonance control device. It is purpose-built to enhance the performance of your hi-fi system and improve upon the standard spikes and stabilizers that are provided with loudspeakers and racks.
Energy is an unavoidable byproduct whenever components are in use, creating vibrations which can greatly affect the sound produced. The Sort Füt’s proprietary four-part construction eliminates these unwanted vibrations by providing a direct ground path, allowing extraneous energy to escape from electronics. The result: a reduction in intermodulation distortion, a proliferation of musical information, and an increase of tonal and textural details that will allow your system to achieve the dynamic range it is capable of.

Nordost KoneRRP from $100 each Contact us for advice
The Sort Kone is a directly coupled and mechanically tuned resonance control device, using a sophisticated new approach to the problem of supporting sensitive electronics.
Whereas most equipment supports are referred to as Isolation Devices, this actually completely misunderstands the nature of the problem. The most harmful mechanical energy doesn’t enter the equipment from outside; it’s generated internally by the audio circuits and their power supplies. Transformers, power supply capacitors, even the active devices themselves, all vibrate as they operate – and those vibrations occur right where the fragile signal is, creating timing errors that smear and distort the music. The Sort Kone is designed specifically to deal with this threat to audio fidelity.
Sort Kones provide a “blacker” background to your music. With it comes greater focus, instrumental color, depth, transparency and dynamic range. Your system will sound more natural and more lifelike, your music more lively and engaging, the musicians like better musicians – simply because you’ll finally be able to hear the notes they’re playing, the way they play them and precisely when. So, release the hidden performance that’s lurking in your equipment.
• Three-part construction employs superior materials in a mechanically tuned configuration.
• Bypasses soft feet fitted to equipment to provide a direct mechanical ground path for internal energy.
• Can be used in triplets, quartets or even larger numbers.
• Height: 56mm
• Four levels of price and performance, depending on materials employed:
AS – aluminum post and base combined with a hardened steel coupling ball.
AC – aluminum post and base in combination with an upgraded ceramic coupling ball.
BC – bronze post and base elements combined with an upgraded ceramic coupling ball.
TC – titanium post and base in combination with an upgraded ceramic coupling ball.
All units are individually packed so that you can determine the optimum number for your system’s requirements.
Nordost Norse 2 Bi-wire JumpersRRP $220 per set Contact us for advice
After paying so much time and attention to the integrity of your sound system, why degrade its performance by neglecting the last few inches of crucial cabling. Nordost’s Norse 2 Bi-Wire Jumpers are the perfect solution for achieving exceptional sound by replacing the standard, bent metal plates and generic wires supplied with most bi-wire loudspeakers.
The Norse 2 jumper uses a silver-plated, solid core OFC conductor which is wrapped in a precise spiral of Micro Mono-Filament before being covered in an outer layer of FEP insulation and cut at a specific, mechanically tuned length. This dedicated design provides a straight-line, low-loss jumper that ensures optimum results. The difference that a well-engineered jumper makes in sound quality is astonishing, and these improvements are magnified that much more when maintaining the same core cable technology throughout.
Each set comes in a length of 15.7cm.
